Friends of the Children is committed to changing the lives of children who are facing the highest risks. They commit to each child for 12.5 years. No matter what! Each child is paired with a salaried, professional mentor called a Friend. I'm proud to serve as an Austin board member and volunteer. Friends of the Children has chapters across the country. I hope you'll search for one in your community.
Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. These relationships have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. My husband has been a "Big" for over eight years and serves on the Austin board. We believe in this life-changing organization and give proudly.
Ellevate Network believes in the positive impact of women in business. Their mission is to help women advance in the workplace, both for themselves and the greater good. They strive to change the culture of business from the inside out - by investing in women. I support this organization by serving on the Austin Leadership Team. Join us for an upcoming event!
The 4Word Women Mentor Program is designed to connect women who share similar professional goals and values. I've had the pleasure of mentoring eight dynamic women, contributed to a 4Word produced book and spoke at a quarterly meeting on How to Manage Conflict at Work and Home. Check to see if there is a local chapter near you.
